These terms cover your use of the LookUp app. By using LookUp you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
LookUp reads architecture from photographs you take: it describes the style, period and materials of a building and, where it can, names nearby landmarks. The map, the collection and the readings are provided as a personal, non-commercial service.
LookUp creates an anonymous account on first launch. You can back it up with Sign in with Apple (iOS) or Google sign-in (Android) so your collection survives a reinstall or a new phone. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings inside the app. You must be at least 13 years old to use LookUp.
Some features are part of LookUp Pro, a subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends; you manage and cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies — we do not process payments and never see your payment details.
Use LookUp for what it is built for. Do not try to break into it, overload it, scrape it, resell it, or use it to photograph people or private property without permission. Do not upload content you have no right to upload.
Every reading is produced by an AI model from the photograph alone. It is an informed guess, not a survey or an expert opinion, and it may be wrong — about the style, the period, the materials or the identity of a building. Do not rely on a reading for any professional, legal, financial, safety or conservation decision.
Your photos stay yours. We process them only to produce your readings and to show them back to you in your collection. They are never shared with other users or made public unless you choose to share a reading yourself, and never used to train AI models. You can stop sharing or delete any reading, or your whole account, whenever you like.
You can stop using LookUp at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used to harm the service or other people.
LookUp is provided as is. We do not promise it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any reading will be accurate. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of LookUp is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
We may update these terms as LookUp changes. The effective date at the top tells you when they last changed; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms. We will point out any change that matters inside the app.
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and any dispute will be dealt with by the Scottish courts, without taking away your right to rely on the consumer protection law of the country you live in.
